LONDON (UK) – Parents must be vigilant about a severe infant inflammatory disease which medics fear may be linked to COVID-19, according to a junior British interior minister.
“It demonstrates just how fast moving this virus is and how unprecedented it is in its effect. The chief medical officer has said that it’s extremely rare but we must all be watching very carefully through this virus.”
– Victoria Atkins, junior British interior minister
British and Italian medical experts are in the process of investigating a possible link between the pandemic and what appears to be Kawasaki disease clusters. Kawasaki is a severe inflammatory disease and is seen among infants arriving in hospital with high fevers and swollen arteries.
