SEOUL- On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump sent birthday wishes to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un through Chung Eui-Yong, South Korea’s national security adviser.
Chung had met with Trump earlier this week and was given a message to pass to North Korea. The message was finally delivered on Thursday.
Upon his arrival back to South Korea, Chung said that the day they met was Kim Jong Un’s birthday and Trump remembered and told him to deliver the message.
It is believed that Kim’s birthday is on January 8th but it is not confirmed owing to his secretive regime. Kim’s birth year is listed as 1984 by the U.S. government which makes him 36 years old this year.
Chung did not elaborate if it was a written message or if anything other than birthday wishes was included.
