On Thursday, the Wall Street Journal reported that executives from Apple Inc met MGM Holdings Inc who is the owner of the James Bond franchise and the Pac-12 collegiate athletic conference earlier this year in order to boost the Apple TV service.
Apple TV app and TV+ services were launched at a price of $4.99 monthly in November and have nine original programmes. This marks the entry of the makers of the iPhone into the saturated TV streaming market.
Talks with the Pac-12 and MGM are preliminary and are yet to reach an advanced stage, WSJ reported said people familiar with the matter. The Pac-12 deal would be a foray into live sports for Apple.
