On Wednesday, Finnish telecom networks maker Nokia Oyj announced its agreement to acquire U.S.-based privately-held company Elenion Technologies.
This movie is targetted towards Nokia boosting its optical networking business and to offer broader choices to telecoms operators.
The acquisition value has not been shared for release yet.
Elenion was founded in 2014 and it develops silicon photonics technologies for optical interfaces of short-reach and high-performance.
“Ownership of these key assets brings time-to-market and cost advantages to Nokia’s broad portfolio of networking solutions by applying the massive scale and economies of silicon design and manufacturing to the optical supply chain.”
