ROME- Italy’s antitrust authority said on Tuesday it opened a probe over alleged irregular commercial practices in the delivery of mail by post operator Poste Italiane.
The investigation into Poste focuses on its registered mail delivery service, the regulator said, adding that customers had been allegedly persuaded to purchase the product, which does not have the features emphasized in their ads.
Under its business plan to 2022, the group is investing in logistics to boost its parcel delivery business to offset the fall in traditional mail activity.
