LONDON – On Saturday, a second storm this week hit Britain prompting flood alerts across the country.
Flights and train services have been disrupted owing to the storm. This is a particularly busy time as many schools commence their half-term holidays.
Storm Dennis brought in heavy rains and strong winds not long after Storm Ciara brought transport disruptions, flooding and left several homes without electricity.
EasyJet warned of significant flight disruptions with many flights to Gatwick being cancelled. Luton airport advised passengers to crosscheck with airlines on their flight status before leaving to the airport.
30 flood warnings are in place around England and 238 warnings cautioning of possible floods are also in place.
75 military personnel helped build barriers and flood defence repair in Yorkshire where the ground has been saturated since the rain last week.
