Asian African Chamber of Commerce & Industry (AACCI) announces the Asian African Leadership Forum to Recognize Business Leaders Across Continents
New Delhi: The Asian-African Chamber of Commerce & Industry (AACCI) in association with Millennial India International Chamber of Commerce Industry & Agriculture (MIICCIA) organised the prestigious inter-continental Leadership Forum in New Delhi on Saturday, 23rd March, which consisted of a grand summit, B2B networking amongst diplomats from various countries in the two continents & industry leaders and leadership awards – conferred upon those leaders or organisations that have shown exceptional and path-breaking performance and tenacity in developing successful businesses. The theme of the occasion was dedicated to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
Apart from the participation of over 250 professionals from 44 plus industry sectors in joining hands to encourage the leaders, the Forum witnessed the presence of high ranking Diplomats from Nigeria, Zimbabwe, South Korea, Malawi, South Africa, African-Asian Rural Development Organization and many more. All the distinguished dignitaries emphasised the role of Africa in the next economic boom and chambers like AACCI would be elemental in catalysing this boom.
Chief Guest for the occasion was Hon’ble Union Minister of Trade & Commerce, Govt. Of India – Shri Suresh Prabhu, who could not join the event due to some last minute agenda, nevertheless he gave his warm wishes and blessings.
Dr GD Singh, Founder & Chairman, Asian-African Chamber of Commerce & Industry, in his opening address impressed upon the collaboration with a difference for the development of businesses in the Asian & African continent. He added that this is the first of its kind, open platform which amalgamates the most brilliant talents and empowers the leaders of tomorrow.
Mr Yoo Chang Ho, Minister Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Korea said: “Africa as a friend of South Korea appreciates the partnership and further enhance the partnership”.
Mr Ben Joubert, Deputy High Commissioner, High Commission of South Africa in his address mentioned: “80% of world’s population will be from the Asian & African Regions in future, not only in business but also in social, economic areas”.
H.E. Eng Waasfi Hassan El-Sreihin, Secretary-General, African-Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO) during his address appreciated the efforts put in by AACCI and expressed their interest to work with AACCI to promote coordinated efforts, exchange of experiences and cooperative action for furthering the objectives of development of the rural areas.
H.E. Mr Chris Eze, High Commissioner to the Republic of Nigeria in India during his address highlighted that India and Nigeria had existing relations in various areas including agriculture, defence, trade, capacity building, healthcare, infrastructure and socio-cultural relations. He also added that “India is a development partner of Nigeria with emphasis on sharing of knowledge and experience with a view to improve capacity building in diverse areas”.
H.E. Mr George Mkondiwa, High Commissioner, High Commission of Malawi to India during his address stressed upon the SDG’s, said, “Malawi is committed to work based on the MGDS which includes the creation of an enabling environment for the private sector to increase domestic and foreign investment. The country supports, encourages and engages the private sector and all relevant stakeholders in result-oriented dialogue to ensure tangible improvement in the business environment”
H.E. Mr Maxwell Ranga, Ambassador, Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe to India emphasised the need to tap natural synergies between India and Zimbabwe and scope for engagement in healthcare, agriculture, hospitality, infrastructure, SME sectors.”
Mr Anil Trigunayat, former IFS & President, MIICCIA highlighted the potential of the future of Africa. “Africa’s affection and regards towards has developed the strategic partnership with African continent”,
The Asian-African Chamber of Commerce & Industry (AACCI) and Indian Importers Chamber of Commerce signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which will strengthen business relations and develop reciprocal Co-operation and to establish a practical framework to facilitate the development of stronger business relations between the two Chambers.

Renowned speakers from top organizations mesmerized the audience from their audacious discussions through the two panel discussions that included Dr. Shalini Sharma- Founding Director Global Institute for Circular Economy & Sustainable Development Goals, Ms. Poonam Barua – Founder Chairman Forum for Women in Leadership & CEO, WILL Forum India, Ms. Binjal Shah – Chief Correspondent Outlook Business Women of Worth, Ms. Deepshikha Kumar Anand – Founder & Managing Partner, SpeakIn, Ms. Kruti Bharucha – Chief Executive Officer, Peepul India and Ms. Sonal Jindal who argued through the 1st Panel Discussion, ‘The Power of NO: Defining your impact as a leader’ which was moderated by Ms. Kavea Chavali-Renowned Anchor & TV Presenter.
The 2nd Panel Discussion, ‘Goal Setting and Overcoming Immunity to Change’, moderated by Prof. Ujjawal Chowdhury- Dean- School of Media, Pearl Academy, saw no lesser vibrations through some eminent speakers to the likes of, Dr Rakesh Kapoor – Retd.
