NEW YORK (US) – The presidential campaign of Democrat candidate Joe Biden has come out with a whopping $280 million (213.6 million pounds) advertisement drive targeting television and social media. It is more than what Trump’s campaign has spent so far since 2017.
The advertising blitz across 15 states shows a steep increase in funds for Biden who once struggled to find money during his party’s primary.
President Trump has set apart $150 million in television ads across 11 states for the fall, said media research firms. He has outrun Biden on Facebook, Google and TV so far on ads.
The new Biden ad reserves, which include $60 million for digital advertisements, would exhaust all of the $242 million his campaign had said was available, making it the most expensive showdown in US history.
Biden’s advertisements will cover major swing states like Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, as well as Republican-leaning states of Arizona and Georgia.
According to campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon, the ads will portray Biden as an empathetic leader, in contrast to Trump.
