Manchester United faces mounting pressure to drop their £84 million forward, Antony, after Brazil withdrew the footballer from their latest squad in the wake of serious allegations leveled against him by his former girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin. These allegations against the Manchester United star player Antony include claims of physical assault, threats to kill her, and an attack involving a glass.

Brazil’s Seleção has been preparing for World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Peru, but they will now do so without Antony. The Brazilian Football Confederation issued a statement, stating, “We have withdrawn him from the squad in order to investigate the facts that have come to light and to safeguard the supposed victim, the player, and the Brazilian national team.”

UOL

UOL, a Brazilian website, published a detailed exposé that included numerous allegations made by Cavallin, a DJ and social media influencer. Antony and Cavallin were in a relationship in 2021, before Antony’s move from Ajax to Manchester United in 2022.

Cavallin alleged that the first attack occurred on June 1st of the previous year while she was pregnant with their child during a holiday in Brazil. She claimed Antony, who is 23 years old, became enraged after spotting her in a nightclub he was also present at, and he subjected her to physical assault and threats while in a car.

Cavallin stated, “He said that if I wasn’t going to be with him, I wouldn’t be with anyone… I was shaking with fear.”

A second alleged attack is said to have happened in Manchester on January 15th this year, a day after Manchester United’s victory over Manchester City. This incident reportedly required medical attention for Cavallin in her hotel room at the four-star Hyatt Regency. She stated, “He punched me in the breast and my silicon [implant] flipped over.” A photograph provided by Cavallin showed a head wound she claimed resulted from the attack.

According to UOL’s report, a third alleged attack occurred on May 8th this year when Cavallin asserted that Antony “tried to attack her face with a glass” during an argument. In an attempt to defend herself, Cavallin sustained a deep wound to her right-hand finger, exposing the bone. As she scrambled to book a flight back to Brazil to escape the situation, she sent a message to the travel agent that read, “I need to get out of here before he kills me.”

These allegations, which individuals have reported to police in São Paulo and Manchester, have ignited outrage in Brazil.
