Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt will star in an upcoming Formula One (F1) film, with Joseph Kosinski directing. Kosinski directed Top Gun: Maverick. The movie, which is currently untitled, will also feature Damson Idris and Kerry Condon. The actors will not only film scenes during actual races but will also have their own pit stops on the track.

Kosinski, known for his dedication to practical effects, plans to use real cars on set to enhance authenticity and deliver thrilling car sequences reminiscent of the exhilarating flight sequences in Top Gun: Maverick. In the film, Brad Pitt will portray a former driver who makes a comeback with a fictional team called APXGP, with Damson Idris playing his teammate.

Joseph Kosinski will produce the Brad Pitt film in collaboration with Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films, who previously worked with him on Top Gun: Maverick. Furthermore, seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton will contribute to the production through his company, Dawn Apollo Films.

Similar to how Kosinski had the actors in Top Gun: Maverick sit in actual cockpits, he aimed to create a similar experience for the F1 film.
To secure the role of Pitt’s teammate, Idris had to showcase his driving skills on a race track. Since being cast, he has actively been preparing on the track.
