Regnology , a software provider specializing in regulatory reporting solutions, has acquired Metadata Technology, a UK-based provider of statistical data and metadata exchange (SDMX) solutions for central banks and national statistics authorities. The acquisition has not disclosed the financial details.
The acquisition expands Regnology’s technology offerings for regulators, central banks, and statistical agencies, complementing its previous acquisition of Vizor SupTech in 2021. Regulators worldwide widely use Vizor SupTech, an integrated data collection software.
SDMX, an ISO standard aimed at describing statistical data and metadata, facilitates efficient sharing among statistical organizations and institutions. The acquisition of Metadata Technology strengthens Regnology’s position in this domain.
Seven international organizations sponsor SDMX, making it the most widely adopted standard among international organizations and national statistical offices.
Metadata Technology, established in 2005, develops software solutions based on open-source technology, specifically the Fusion Metadata Registry (FMR).
Its latest piece of software, Fusion Registry, provides international organisations with the capabilities needed to support the complete data lifecycle from collection, integration, storage and processing through to the dissemination of aggregated data.
Maciej Piechocki, chief revenue officer at Regnology, says: “We are committed to pursuing the effort to foster widespread SDMX adoption to alleviate the strain of reporting and further increase statistical processing efficiency.”
