London Streets woke up early today, listening to Scottish bands. The Royal Mile is packed with fans and well-wishers of the King and Queen from yesterday. Meanwhile, the guests traveled all the way to London to witness the coronation service.
All eyes now turn to Westminster Abbey and the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. Moreover, this is the first coronation of the 21st century. Coronation Service will take place in the ‘Coronation Theatre’ at the heart of Westminster Abbey.
Almost 1,000 years on from the first Coronation there, King Charles is the 40th Monarch to be crowned in its ancient walls.
The relevance of monarchy in 21 century is a question in debate. But the crowd visible in front of West minister Abbey shows The United Kingdom still admires the royals.
The Guests Are Ready For Coronation
Over 100 additional heads of state, as well as UK legislators, celebrities, and leaders from many groups and organisations, will attend. Members of the House of Windsor will be present for the coronation event. While Queen Camilla’s family has not made any public declarations regarding their presence, it is quite expected that her children, Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes, will be present, along with their respective families.
Only 40 Members of Parliament (MPs) and 40 peers are expected to attend.
In comparison to Queen Elizabeth’s coronation 70 years ago, Charles’ coronation will be attended by fewer nobility. Leaders from all across the world will be in attendance.
Prince Charles has stated that he prefers to be recognised as the “defender of the faith” rather than the “Defender of the Faith,” recognising the religious plurality in the United Kingdom.
Many celebrities, members of public, people with ceremonial roles all set to witness the event.
