The second season, “Geneva, The Resort City”, from July 1 to August 31, invites residents and visitors to rediscover the city’s offerings through their own experiences and interpretations.
Over two months, more than 150 hotels and over 100 activities, ranging from adventurous explorations to family-friendly moments, will allow visitors to find new dimensions to the city’s charms and wonders.
Geneva is back on the map as one of the most sought-after getaway destinations among travellers from all around the world, with GCC visitors’ numbers increasing more than eleven times during the first trimester of this year compared to the same period of last year, thanks to the beautiful weather, authentic living and it’s a diverse environment, Geneva’s summer offers more of what everyone seeks within a true urban escape.
“Geneva, The Resort City” initiative has created new venues for people to explore the city and a new flavour to its wonderful offerings, with the city’s special location on the southern tip of Lake Geneva giving it a feel of an open resort with everything available within walking distance.
With a multitude of participating partners and experiences, visiting Geneva this summer will prove to be an exhilarating experience and an open gate to all its magic; guests will enjoy a myriad of activities, including gourmet cuisine offerings, sports adventures, sightseeing of some of the world’s most renowned landmarks, guided tours to the city’s hidden gems and authentic old streets, cruising on the lake’s waters and relaxing in natural healing baths, in addition to high-end luxury brands for the perfect shopping spree in a city known for its grandeur.
Upon arrival, every tourist staying in Geneva from July 1st until August 31st will receive their complimentary Geneva Resort Pass by email or upon their hotel check-in, together with the Geneva Transport Card, giving them accessible and easy access to local transportation to enjoy over 100 activities with a minimum of 20% discount up to complimentary experiences.
The participating hotels’ list has been expanded for this year’s edition to include over 150 accommodations, ranging from exclusive luxury to adventure friendly for young globe trotters, including the elegant Beau-Rivage Genève, where Lake Geneva and Alpine peaks surround this historical gem, Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva, which is a lively option in the heart of the city with many indoor activities to enjoy for all family members. In contrast, a warm sanctuary within a historical setting will bring families together at the Four Seasons Hotel Des Bergues Geneva and many other options.
For this second season, a campaign has been launched in collaboration with six enthusiastic amateur photographers to rediscover the city through their own eyes, involving locals to lead the city’s vision in promoting a diverse and ever-renovating cultural and social environment built on inclusion.
This campaign will be extended to witness the participation of all visitors through social media, further engaging them in the authentic local life Geneva proudly shares with everyone, with prizes lined up to reward them for participating in the local travel scene.
