Water regulator said on Monday it would permit retailers to increase prices temporarily to offset higher bad debt costs due to the COVID-19 crisis.
Setting out a number of proposals to address the rise in bad debt, Ofwat said the retailers will bear 25% of bad debt costs where these are more than 2% of non-household revenue, and can pass the rest to non-household customers.
