MOSCOW (RUSSIA) – Russian authorities said on Friday that a powerful blast ripped through a supermarket in the southern city of Vladikavkaz before opening hours. A gas leak is suspected.
There are no reports of casualties. According to the supermarket’s guard, he had been asleep in the building but survived the explosion without injuries.
On social media networks, there was footage of smoke spiralling from the site of the explosion.
“I fell asleep when it was nearly morning and woke up from the explosion. I crawled out of there somehow,” said the guard in a video clip shown by RIA news agency.
