LONDON (UK) – Environment Minister George Eustice said the country is keeping its frontiers open for now. This comes after speculation that Britain could be completely shut to arrivals from overseas after it tightened restrictions for travellers to stem the spread of the virus.
“It’s right that we are cautious about travel, but we don’t think it’s right at the moment to close it down altogether and close the border,” the minister told LBC radio on Friday.
While most overseas travel is banned as per the current lockdown, new rules introduced on Monday require a negative pre-departure test for travellers apart from a certain period of quarantine on arrival.
