MADRID (SPAIN) – Amazon is all prepared to hike the fees for Spanish firms using its platform by 3% from April in the wake of the government imposing a digital tax.
A spokesman of the firm said the Google tax, which the government imposed on revenues of large digital firms from January 21, would hit users.
Countries across the world are looking at options to tax global tech firms on revenues generated in their economies in the absence of wider agreement on how to deal with their growing role in business and commerce.
Amazon had announced a similar move in France when the government gave its nod for “Google tax”.
