MELBOURNE (AUSTRALIA) – Australia coach Justin Langer has all but confirmed his squad would remain unchanged for the second test against India beginning on Saturday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
In the first test match in Adelaide, Australia completed an eight-wicket win over the visitors after they dismissed the team led by skipper Virat Kohli for a record low score of 36 during the second innings.
“I’d be a pretty courageous man to change the XI for this test match after the last one,” Langer said on Thursday while speaking to media persons.
“At this stage, unless something happens over the next few days – and things can happen in the world we live in – we’ll go in with the same XI, I’d say.”
Opening batsman David Warner will not be playing in the match because of a groin injury. He is the only player to have been in contention to force his way into the side.
