LONDON (UK) – Wolverhampton Wanderers said its striker Raul Jimenez paid a visit to their training ground for the first time after suffering a skull fracture late last month.
The Mexican international had to undergo emergency surgery after a head butt with Arsenal defender David Luiz. Following the injury, the 29-year-old had to be taken off the field on a stretcher.
The player greeted Nuno Espirito Santo and comrades at Compton Park before watching a segment of the training session as they prepare to host Aston Villa on Saturday.
The players sported T-shirts carrying messages expressing support for Jimenez ahead of Sunday’s league trouncing by Liverpool.
The club also said on its website that there will be a huge banner in the Steve Bull Stand at Molineux against Villa, expressing support for Jimenez and it will be crowdfunded by supporters from across the globe.
No timeframe has been set for a return to action for Jimenez, who netted four goals in 10 top-flight appearances this season.
