LONDON (UK) – Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said he told Washington during a recent visit that it was the EU and not Britain that was trying to scuttle the Good Friday pact which brought peace to Northern Ireland.
Britain has proposed a new legislation that would violate the Northern Ireland protocol, which is a part of the UK’s divorce deal with the EU that seeks to avoid border checks between Northern Ireland and Ireland, which is part of the EU.
US Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden had warned the UK that it must not violate the agreement when it finally leaves the bloc or there would be no separate trade deal with the US.
