PARIS (FRANCE) – French health authorities recorded 7,071 new confirmed coronavirus cases on Sunday.
Friday’s figure marked a new all-time high, with regard to daily additional infections for the country. The number of people hospitalised in the last week reached 1,704, and at least 288 of them were in intensive care units.
The number of people in France who have lost lives due to COVID-19 increased to 30,701, and the cumulative number of cases now becomes 324,777.
Health Minister Olivier Veran said more people are likely to be hospitalised in intensive care units in the next two weeks.
