ATHENS (GREECE) – A Greek prosecutor released Manchester United captain Harry Maguire after he appeared in court following two days of detention. He was allegedly involved in a brawl on the island of Mykonos, said the club.
The 27-year-old will respond to the charges he faces on Aug. 25, said local police.
The Premier League club said in a statement: “Following the appearance in court today we note the adjournment of the case to allow the legal team to consider the case file.
“Harry has pleaded not guilty to the charges. It would be inappropriate for the player or club to comment further while the legal process takes its course.”
According to Greek law, the England international can be represented in court by his attorney rather than appear in person.
