BEIJING (CHINA) – The Chinese commerce ministry said on Thursday that it will adopt all measures necessary to protect the legitimate interests of its companies. This comes in response to the US bid to intensify restrictions on Huawei Technologies.
The US government on Monday expanded the ambit of the curbs imposed last May on Huawei to prevent the telecoms giant from obtaining chips without a special licence. It also added 38 Huawei affiliates in 21 countries to the economic blacklist to prevent the firm from accessing semiconductors.
“The U.S. side should immediately correct its wrong behaviours,” the ministry said.
