JERUSALEM (ISRAEL) – Israel on Tuesday shut down one of its main border crossings with the Gaza Strip after Palestinians send out incendiary balloons, setting fire to areas on the Israeli frontier.
According to Israeli media reports, border communities saw more than 30 fires set around by balloons carrying incendiary devices.
Israel’s Defence Ministry said in a statement, “Kerem Shalom Crossing will be closed for the passage of all goods, with the exception of the entry of essential humanitarian equipment and fuel.”
Palestinian officials, however said the closure in particular affected construction materials.
