LONDON (UK) – Duchess of Sussex Meghan won a lawsuit on Wednesday to keep the names of her friends anonymous for the time being as part of a libel case against a British tabloid, said the PA Media.
The wife of Prince Harry, the grandson of Queen Elizabeth, is suing Associated Newspapers over articles that appeared in its Mail on Sunday which included a handwritten letter Meghan had sent to her estranged father Thomas Markle in August 2018.
The paper argued in court that it had published the letter to Markle in response to an article that appeared in US magazine People which was based on anonymous interviews with five of Meghan’s friends.
At London’s High Court, Judge Mark Warby ruled that the names could not be published as part of the case in which Meghan says the newspaper intruded her privacy, breaching her copyright.
