Not sure if captain Grealish will remain with club next season: Villa’s Smith

LONDON (UK) – Dean Smith, the manager of Aston Villa, said he was not sure if skipper Jack Grealish will remain with the club next season. He warned potential suitors that they would have to spend a huge sum if they want to sign him.

Grealish netted the first goal in the 1-1 draw against West Ham United on Sunday. This result along with Watford’s defeat at Arsenal, enabled Villa to remain in the Premier League.

Smith said he did not know what the future held for Grealish, 24, who has been linked to several English clubs.

“I’m certainly hopeful he will play for Villa again. He is contracted for another three years, I think,” Smith said.

“I have said many times before we have billionaire owners. If people want to come and get our best players they will cost an awful lot of money.”
