LONDON (UK) – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the manager of Manchester United, has said that the criticism he faced during the beginning of the Premier League campaign strengthened his resolve to succeed.
He witnessed United’s worst start to the campaign in three decades, but the club completed the season by clinching a third place with Sunday’s 2-0 victory at Leicester City.
“I don’t think many were predicting it, the predictions were for us to finish sixth or seventh,” said Solskjaer whose club has been unbeaten for the past 14 league matches.
“I’ve always been made that way. If I’m getting criticised that makes me stronger in what I’m doing.
“We all have different ideas of management and I do it my way.”
Gary Neville, the former defender of United, said the club has made progress by clinching a third position, but it still has to invest wisely in the transfer market.
“They need more players in their squad,” Neville told Sky Sports.
