LONDON (UK) – Actress Amber Heard told London’s High Court that her ex-husband Johnny Depp had threatened to kill her. She was giving evidence in court on Monday in a libel suit filed by Depp against a tabloid in Britain.
Depp of Pirates of the Caribbean fame has sued News Group Newspapers, publishers of the Sun, over a 2018 article in which the actor was portrayed as a “wife beater”.
“Some incidents were so severe that I was afraid he was going to kill me, either intentionally or just by losing control and going too far,” Heard said in her witness statement.
“He explicitly threatened to kill me many times, especially later in our relationship.”
