WASHINGTON (US) – In the wake of coronavirus cases surging across Florida, Republicans are mulling to limit the number of participants at the party’s national convention in Jacksonville in the state next month.
A source said only 2,500 regular delegates will be allowed to take part in the event that spans four days.
President Donald Trump is slated to address the gathering on the final evening and will formally accept the Republican presidential candidacy. Delegates will be permitted to bring one guest, and alternate delegates will also be invited. Thus, as many as 6,000 to 7,000 people are expected to be present on the final day.
