BEIJING (CHINA) – China said on Wednesday it was not afraid of any sanctions the United States might impose on Beijing over the situation in the South China Sea. Beijing also accused Washington of fomenting trouble in the region and trying to destabilise it.
Spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry Hua Chunying said in a briefing that that Beijing hopes Washington will not go further down the wrong path.
This came after key US diplomats to Fast Asia warned of possible curbs on Chinese officials and firms accused of coercion in the region.
