TOKYO (Business) – Honda Motor resumed production at its US automobile and motorcycle plants as well as in other countries following a suspected cyber attack this week.
The suspected attack comes shortly after Honda reopened the vehicle assembly plants across North America, after factory closures in late March to limit the spread of coronavirus.
Vehicle output had resumed by Thursday at Honda’s main Ohio plant producing models like the CR-V SUV crossover and the Accord sedan.
“It appears that our customers’ personal information has not been affected.”
– Honda spokesman
This marks the second suspected attack on Honda’s global network, the first being the WannaCry virus which forced a day-long production halt at a domestic plant in 2017.
