PARIS (Europe) – France must speed up its return to work and business activity gradually, as it emerges from coronavirus lockdown measures in place to tackle the crisis, according to France’s Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire.

The economy of France is expected to see a 11% contraction in 2020.
French President Emmanuel Macron’s government put the country under an extremely stringent lockdown from mid-March. The lockdown restrictions only began on May 11.
Emmanuel Macron is due to address France in a televised speech on June 14.
