Google to begin office reopening with 30% capacity targetted in September

(Business) – Google to begin the reopening of its buildings at roughly 10% of its capacity in more cities starting July 6. They intend to scale it up to 30% by September if conditions allow for the same.

Google and Facebook allowed employees to work from home starting early March in adherence to government-mandated restrictions to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Google is giving each one of its employees a $1,000 allowance, or the equivalent value in their country, for necessary equipment and office furniture.

This comes as Google expects most employees to switch to working from home for the rest of the year.

A few employees whose roles are needed back in the office this year will return on a limited, rotating basis, according to Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai.
