BRUSSELS (Europe) – A global fundraising campaign for the development of vaccines and treatments for COVID-19 has raised 9.5 billion euros so far, according to Ursula von der Leyen, the head of the European Commission.

The GlobalResponse pledging campaign was shunned by the U.S. It raised $8 billion from global leaders and institutions on May 4, the date of its launch.
