KUALA LUMPUR (Asia) – The Malaysian government extended its movement and business curbs pushing it by another four weeks to June 9 as the country is in the midst of a gradual reopening of economic activity which has been on the downslide due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier this week, businesses resumed as usual under strict health guidelines, after two months of shutting shop.
So far, Malaysia has reported 6,589 cases with 108 deaths.
Existing conditional movement control order rules remain until the new expiry date in June. These include practising strict hygiene and social distancing, according to Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
