Dubai (Middle East) – Princess Hend Al Qassimi, an Emirati businesswoman, royal family member and anti-racist speech crusader, spoke up against a series of Islamophobic tweets on Thursday.
A Twitter user by the name Saurabh Upadhyay, based in Dubai, targetted the Tablighi Jamaat incident in India and went on an Islamophobic rant. He has since then deactivated his Twitter account.
Princess Hend Al Qassimi took to her Twitter saying,” Anyone that is openly racist and discriminatory in the UAE will be fined and made to leave. An example;” before adding screenshots to Upadhyay’s tweets.
The screenshots show Upadhyay’s Islamophobic rants comparing the Tablighi Jamaat gathering’s ‘religious fanatics’ to a ‘new form of jiiihaad custom’.
