LONDON (UK) – London Mayor Sadiq Khan urged the British government to make face masks compulsory for those travelling around London or out to shop.
Khan stated that global evidence revealed that face coverings help curb the virus’ spread.
New York ordered its residents to put on masks or any sort of face coverings in any public situation where they cannot be a minimum of six feet away from others.
“In those circumstances where its not possible for us to keep our social distance, think of public transport usage, think of when you’re in a shop, we should be using non-medical facial coverings like bandandas, like scarves, like reusable masks.”
– Sadiq Khan, London Mayor
The UK’s social distancing guidelines do not mention face masks use, but Khan expressed that it should change.
