(Technology) – On Wednesday, Spotify Technology announced the launch of a COVID-19 music relief project for musicians to fundraise with the coronavirus pandemic bringing a halt to most countries with its economic toll.

The music streaming platform had about 124 million paid subscribers. Spotify has partnered with non-profit organizations like MusiCares and Help Musicians.

Spotify would also match donations made through the music relief page for up to $10 million.

Countries have been instructing people to stay home to curb the coronavirus spread, which has claimed almost 19,000 people and infected approximately 421,000 globally.

Spotify is also working on a separate feature to allow musicians raise funds directly from fans either for themselves or for other artists.
