LONDON (UK Daily) – Sadiq Khan, the London Mayor, pleaded with the city’s residents to stay home on Sunday, stating to avoid socialising. The manoeuvre was to save lives and police will get involved if people ignored the warnings.
Britain ordered the shut down of gyms and bars and stated that restaurants should only operate takeaway. With no enforced lockdown, Londoners paraded out onto the streets to enjoy the fresh air in parks and markets.
Mayor Khan stated that he believes that exercise and dog-walking are “good reasons” to go out but those planning to meet up with friends should reconsider.
“Life has changed. We’ve got to do things differently for a while now. Social interaction leads to the disease spreading, leads to people dying. Don’t leave your home unless you really really have to. This isn’t advice as far as I’m concerned. These are instructions and these are rules that we should all obey to stop people dying.”
