PARIS – Renault may seek guarantees from the French government to bolster its finances to deal with the coronavirus crisis, but a renationalisation is under consideration, according to Renault Chairman Jean-Dominique Senard.
“We may seek state guarantees like other companies. Remember that in 2008-2009 we never got to that point.”
– Jean-Dominique Senard
Talking about the last global financial crisis when Renault received a 3 billion euro government loan was “not on the agenda” as things stand.
Senard added that orders for some of the models were currently down 90%.
