LONDON – Britain is currently moving into the ‘delay’ phase of the four-stage coronavirus battle plan that the government has come up with to curb the spread of coronavirus, according to England’s Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty.
When asked by a committee of lawmakers, Whitty said that Britain is on the second stage of the government’s plan.
The steps of the four-stage coronavirus battle plan are: virus containment, delaying virus transmission, researching its origins and mitigating impact of the virus.
The ‘delay’ stage may require measures to restrict people’s movements.
“What we’re doing is putting greater and greater priority on the elements of this that are delay.”
– Chris Whitty
Whitty added that community transmission of the virus is now extremely likely in Britain and he remains optimistic on attempting virus containment.
