NEW YORK – On Wednesday, China’s Huawei Technologies pleaded not guilty in the New York federal court on a 2018 case’s charges against them.
In the latest set of charges, Huawei was said to be conspiring for 20 years or so to steal trade secrets from six U.S. technology firms, lying about its North Korea business and aiding Iran in tracking protestors in the 2009 anti-government protests.
Huawei had been charged by the U.S. government with charges of bank fraud and violation of Iran’s sanctions by using Skycom Tech to get U.S. goods and move money using the international banking system.
Last year, Huawei pleaded not guilty to those charges.
Huawei CEO Meng Wanzhou is fighting extradition from Canada with the case’s original indictment in the case accusing her of misrepresenting the company’s relationship with Skycom to HSBC Holdings. Meng claims that she is innocent.
