FRANKFURT – German airline Lufthansa plans to cut the number of short and medium-haul flights to deal with the coronavirus spread.
Over the next few weeks, the numbers of short and medium-haul flights shall be reduced by 25% depending on the coronavirus spread.
Lufthansa also includes Swiss and Austrian Airlines, will reduce long-haul routes too with 23 of those aircraft going to be taken out of operation. Lufthansa is also looking to reduce working hours.
The company says that it is not possible to estimate the financial impact- the results are due to be published on March 19th, 2020.
