LONDON – On Monday, the national infection service said that the current risk to Britain from a new China coronavirus outbreak is extremely low.
Dr Nick Phil, deputy director of National Infection Service said that the currently available evidence, risk to the UK is very low. They are also in work with the WHO and other partners internationally, issued advice to the NHS while keeping the scenario under constant review.
The coronavirus outbreak has spread to more cities across China including Beijing and Shanghai with a fourth case reported beyond Chinese borders.
Those travelling to Wuhan must maintain a good hand, respiratory and personal hygiene. They must seek medical attention in case of development of respiratory symptoms in a 2-week period within visiting the area.
China’s President Xi Jinping reported that the top priority at the moment is to curb the outbreak and save lives as the patients affected have tripled and a third person has died.
In addition to difficulties with virus containment, several people in the country are travelling domestically and abroad over the Lunar New Year holiday which begins this week.
Authorities worldwide have begun screening travellers from Wuhan, where the virus was first discovered.
