LONDON – On Thursday, the British government said that the outgoing Governor of the Bank of England, Mark Carney, shall be an adviser to Boris Johnson in the run up to the United Nations climate conference to take place in November in Glasgow.
In March, Carney is stepping down from the Bank of England and he has accepted a U.N. finance and climate change envoy role, succeeding former New York Mayor Micheal Bloomberg. Bloomberg is now on the path of campaigning to become the next President of the United States.
Carney’s expertise will aid the UK in the mobilisation of businesses and investors that support the net-zero revolution, said Boris Johnson after his meeting with Carney.
