LONDON – Audio-streaming app Spotify has created a playlist and podcast for people to play for their dogs to listen to in their absence. This came after finding out that almost 74% of UK pet-owners play their animals music.
The Swedish company has launched its podcast complete with soothing music, stories, affirmation and reassuring messages and “dog-directed praise” narrated by actors for stress relief for dogs left at home alone.
The playlists aimed also offer the pets a selection of tracks picked using algorithms to ascertain its characteristics like energetic or slow.
In a survey, Spotify found that one of every four pet owners play music as company for their pets when they are away while 42% of owners believe their pets prefer a type of music. A few pet owners have even spotted their pets grooving and dancing to music.
