LONDON- On Monday, Glasgow club Rangers wants VAR to be used in Scotland pointing fingers towards ‘glaring errors’ against the team in Decembers key matches.

Even though the video review is on the receiving end of heavy criticism after its England Premier League introduction, Rangers’ website states that the club is convinced that VAR is absolutely necessary.

It stated that in the month of December alone, the team has suffered from three glaring errors in important matches.

They said that the SFA/SPFL must consider introducing the system seriously at the soonest to avoid the danger of the Scottish game being left behind.

Rangers have written to Ian Maxwell, Scottish FA chief executive and are urging governing bodies to consider and study the matter seriously.

On Sunday, the Rangers beat Celtics 2-1, however they were critical of the decisions that the referees made in that game amongst others. They claim that the referee and his assistants awarded a goal for a ball deflected into their net deflecting off the hand of a player on the opposing team. The goal should not have stood and had the VAR been in use, it would definitely be overturned.
