NEW DELHI- Injured Indian seamer Bhuvaneshwar Kumar said that he was not thinking about the Australia Twenty20 World Cup yet and his priority is to get fit first.
Kumar’s sports hernia has forced him to lay low, this is the latest of a series of injuries which kept the right-arm bowler out of the West Indies one-day series.
Earlier this year, the 29-year-old suffered a hamstring strain during the England World Cup 50-over match. He also missed the home series against Bangladesh and South Africa with niggles.
Next week, Kumar is to consult with a doctor abroad before deciding if surgery is required or not.
He said that he doesn’t know if he can make a comeback and if it would take one day, one week or a month and it is dependent on the diagnosis and treatment plan.
He also said that he wants to play the game and now he is completely off cricket. He is eagerly waiting to get back to the game and it could be frustrating.
Kumar’s absence coincided with the rise of fellow Uttar Pradesh bowler, Deepak Chahar whose new-ball skills are often compared to him.
