LONDON- On Wednesday in her annual Christmas message, Queen Elizabeth stated how impressed she was by the youth’s dynamism towards the fight against environmental destruction.
The 93-year-old monarch, who was a teenager during World War II stated that the challenges that people face in this day are different as compared to those faced during her generation.
The Queen also elaborated how impressed she was by how the new generations have brought in a sense of purpose to environmental and climate protection issues.
This year, 16-year-old Swedish activist Greta Thunberg has inspired the youth in millions to demand action against global warming. Her solo protest outside the Swedish parliament became a global movement and she was named 2019 Time Magazine’s Person of the Year.
Queen Elizabeth’s son Prince Charles has been an extremely vocal environmental activist for decades, often facing ridicule from British tabloids.
