LONDON- On Tuesday, Prince Philip was released from the hospital in time for Christmas to join the rest of the family members.
The 98-year-old Duke of Edinburgh had been admitted on Friday for the treatment of a pre-existing condition at the King Edward VII Hospital.
On Tuesday morning, Prince Philip walked out of the hospital dressed in a dark suit and he shook hands with a nurse before being driven away seated in the front passenger seat of a car. He then travelled in a helicopter to the Sandringham estate where the royal family gathers for Christmas.
Prince Philip retired from public life in 2017 August but he has made occasional appearances at official engagements since then.
